Children are wonderful explorers of the deep and their arms and legs work all over the place! We will be working using progressive practice to help them control those arms and legs of theirs and become more streamlined as they swim and have fun.

They will be practicing and beginning to master rhythmical breathing, exhaling under the water as they propel themselves through the water in their sea-horses or motorbikes.

We use the wonderful imagination of your children by playing challenging fun games, while learning new water safety and stroke development skills.

Independent swim classes are for children 4 years+ that have developed the confidence to swim in a class without their parent. We teach through the stages of the ASA national plan for teaching swimming.

Within these classes 'beginners' will develop water confidence and basic skills. For new or timid swimmers, 'intermediate' develops alignment, water skills and fundamentals of stroke technique. For children from other swim schools or progressing from beginners we teach 'advanced' techniques developing stamina and good stroke technique.

As children are able to master different techniques they receive certificates to take home and be proud of. We carefully design our swimming lessons so that they are tailored to each child’s individual needs, so it does not matter what their previous experiences are before joining our swim school.
