We have designed our swim programme to include all the different age groups to correspond with what they are capable of learning to do in the water at their developmental stage in life. Our programme enhances their learning potential on a physical, social and cognitive level.
You will do this while laughing, singing and having lots of fun!
In these groupings you and your child will go through 6 stages.
We focus on: feeling the rhythm and movement of the water, bonding with mum or dad, rocking, relaxing, bubble sensations and tummy time.
We focus on: balance and movement, transitions from reflexes to voluntary movements, transitional holds, and balancing and rotating.
We focus on: encouraging and supporting using short bursts of energy to play, splash, kick, rotate, balance, crawl, float, and start to interpret swimming cues through songs and phrases.
We focus on: lots of moving, kicking, splashing, floating, hanging, scooping, bubble blowing and stretching.
We focus on: becoming great explorers, working towards independence, jumping, pushing and gliding, playing lots of games that develop skills, and finding a rhythm in breathing.
We focus on: taking the time to teach children directly and encouraging parents to take on more of a supporting role, whilst remaining vigilant to the needs of their child.
We focus on: teaching children to swim independently, using pool noodles and floats to support themselves, whilst parents encourage water confidence in them and reiterate the importance of water safety.
